Book Launch: Oyo Commissioner Task Politicians on Intellectual Input, salutes Hon. Sugar





Oyo State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Professor Adeniyi Olowofela has urged Nigerian politicians and public office holders to passionately embark on activities that will improve intellectual development of an average citizen in the country.

The Commissioner who expressed displeasure over decline reading culture blamed many public holders for their inability to contribute to the development of intellectual activities that may serve as encouragement and example to the next generation.

Professor Olowofela disclosed recently this at the two books launch program of a member of the House of Representatives, Abuja. Hon. Dr. Olatoye Temitope Sugar representing Lagelu-Akinyele Federal Constituency titled: ‘They Won’t Tell You This About Sugar’, and ‘The Might Of An African Youth In Leadership’, held at the Banquet Hall, Premier Hotel Ibadan.

While commending Hon. Dr. Olatoye Temitope Sugar for dim it fit to impact the future generations with intellectual work, Olowofela explained that every other activities will vanished in no time but written books will never disappear because people will continue to read and make reference to the author.

The University don cum politician maintained that if reading culture will be increase among citizens, leaders and public office holders need to invest in intellectual activities.

He described Hon. Dr. Olatoye Temitope Sugar as a lover of education who has contributed immensely to educational sector across the state.

Olowofela disclosed that a as Commissioner of Education in Oyo State, several Hon. Sugar has written letters to the Ministry of Education for permission to do one thing or the other in government schools across the state, such as building of class rooms, renovation of existing structures and academic donation aimed to improve quality of education in the state.

He called on other politicians to emulate Hon. Sugar on doing something that will enhance and improve academic development which will subsequently translate to national growth and development.
