NBTS Leadership: Nihinlola handover to Ayankeye as 6th Indigenous Seminary President







Following the successful completion of ten years tenure in office as the President, Nigerian Baptist Theological Seminary, Ogbomoso. Rev. Prof. Emiola Nihinlola on Friday handed over the baton of the leadership to Rev. Prof. Stephen Oladele Ayankeye.

Nihinlola the Professor of Christian Theology assumed duty as the fifth indigenous President of the first degree awarding institution in Nigeria since July 1, 2013 and unbacked on series of developmental projects and institutional renewal to complement gains of the past leaders of the Seminary.

The event which took place at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the Nigerian Baptist Theological Seminary, Ogbomoso had in attendance Baptist denominational leaders, Nigerian Baptist Convention executive members, serving and retired Pastors, Faculty members and staff, along with Seminary students and Alumni representatives.

It would be recalled that the apex body of the Nigerian Baptist Convention the owner of the Seminary during 2023 Annual Convention in Session approved the appointment Prof Ayankeye to succeed Prof. Nihinlola.

The transition program which started with Service of Tributes on Thursday witnessed series of commendation for relentless efforts of Nihinlola to transform the Seminary.

Nihinlola who was full of appreciation to God Almighty for the successful completion of his tenure adding that 'God has blessed my effort and answered my prayers upon the Seminary'.

In his first speech as the Seminary President, Prof. Ayankeye pledged to uphold the institution's core value and maintain its relevance of the Seminary among international theological institutions. He assured not to let down the vision of the Seminary founding fathers.

Professor Ayankeye is the 6th indigenous president of the Seminary.
