Oyo Governorship Aspirant pledges Ministry for Physically Challenged, distributes artificial legs, hand cash gifts worth millions






As part of his genuine passion for the physically challenged people in our society to actively administer issues of their concerns, Oyo State governorship aspirant in the 2019 general elections, Hon. Dr. Olatoye Temitope Sugar has pledged to create special Ministry forthe Physically Challenged if elected as the next Governor of Pace Setter state.

The federal lawmaker said creating a special ministry for the special people will enhance adequate response to their needs adding that there are numerous physically impaired citizens without recognition nor provision to improve their living standard, adding such ministry will drastically reduce none-inclusion, segregation, discrimination and stigmatization of people living with disability at all levels of governance.

Hon. Sugar declared that his government will not deny open love with physically challenged people dividends of democracy in any form because no one is immune to physical challenge, it can happen at any time.

The Chairman, House Committee of Rural and Urban Development, in the House of Representatives, Abuja, stated this while distributing artificial walking aids to some selected physically challenged people across the country.

While distributing the artificial walking aids to the beneficiaries at the International Headquarters of Olatoye Sugar Foundation (OSF), Agbowo, Ibadan, Hon. Sugar charged the physically challenged not allow their present situation make them miserable or desolate but to be full of praising Almighty God for when there is life there is hope.

The lawmaker representing Lagelu-Akinyele Federal Constituency said this is not the first time of putting smiles on the faces of physically challenged people across the nation, he disclosed that he has been on this kind of exercise for the past eleven years.

He further explained that, this ceremony has nothing to do with governorship ambition but out passion to improve lives of the people, it is a monthly activities of his philanthropic organization known as Olatoye Sugar Foundation (OSF) to identify twelve challenged people that seriously need assistance with walking aids and fully responsible for the process free of charge.

Among star beneficiaries of artificial walking aid includes, Saliu Ajiboye, Abiodun Ajike, Adebayo Isau, Akinwale Allen, Adeyanju Waheed and others who received cash gifts.

 Hon. Sugar urged the beneficiaries to take proper care of the items given to them by using them constantly that it may be strange at first use but later get familiarize as time go on.

He promised to increase the number of monthly beneficiaries.
