Breaking: Ayu bows to pressure





The embattled National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Iyorchia Ayu on Tuesday stepped aside following the recent court judgement restraining him as the party boss.

Iliyah Damagum has taken over as the acting Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party. 

It would be recalled that Iyorchia Ayu was suspended by his ward executives over alleged anti-party activities.

Damagum said, “As a party, we are prone to reconciliation. We will review it,  we will have an NWC (National Working Committee) meeting tomorrow (Wednesday) and in that meeting we will discuss it, and there will be possible review of whatever is happening.”

Tinubu didn’t win people – Peter Obi

 


The Presidential candidate of Labour Party in the 2023 general election and former Governor of Anambra state, Peter Obi on Monday said the President elect, Bola Tinubu did not win 2023 presidential election.

He stated this while fielding questions on Arise tv program on Monday adding that Tinubu didn’t win the people of Nigeria which is a reflection that he did not win the last presidential election.

According to him, “If you don’t win the people, you have not won, you can only win an election if you the love of the masses".

Peter Obi said INEC promised the masses of free, fair, transparent, credible and generally acceptable election but changed the game abruptly.

He said the process that declared President elect winner of the 2023 election would be challenged in the court of law and not against personality of Tinubu.

“I have nothing against personality of Tinubu but the process that declared him winner of the election.”

Election Postponement: NBTS extend resumption date

 


The Nigerian Baptist Theological Seminary Ogbomoso, on Friday announced the extension of her resumption date for academic activities following the postponement of the governorship and state assembly elections to March 18.

It would be recalled that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had announced a one-week delay of the elections earlier scheduled for March 11 for reconfiguration of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machines used during the presidential and National Assembly elections two weeks ago.

In a statement made available by the Seminary Registrar, Rev. Dr. Dele Oluwole, students and staff were informed of the new resumption of academic activities in the first-degree awarding institution in Nigeria.

According to him, the resumption date for students both undergraduate and post-graduate is now Monday March 20, 2023, that despite this extension, all classes should continue online.

He maintained that the students slated for Defenses should make themselves available and the Library would be open, so Students can access needed resources.

He urged all staff are to be at their duty posts to render services and all students are required to pay up their fees on or before the new resumption date.
